Coverage, counting, and interpretation

The map uses normalized active posting locations from Job Finder, excluding companies labeled Public in the company catalog. Unknown stages remain included. Counts are job-location appearances: one posting with several cities can contribute to each. City totals cannot be added to recover unique jobs.

The geographic export contains 45,354 active roles: 32,416 mapped, 4,910 remote-only, and 8,028 unmapped, before the startup and page filters. Remote-only and unmapped roles are not assigned to city hotspots.

Hub eligibility is fixed to the unfiltered startup snapshot (at least 50 mapped postings; no minimum employer count) so narrow filters do not redefine hubs. Heat intensity uses a fixed reference within this snapshot; radius changes with zoom and neighboring hotspots blend. Heat represents relative job concentration, not hiring growth or investment quality. City boundaries are normalized cities, not metropolitan areas. Geography and company snapshots have their own dates; city-specific historical growth is not available.
